Isla
Isla has started getting her legs taped each week at physical therapy. It seems to be working pretty well!! She is still going to be wearing compression but this allows us to interchange them. Last summer Isla broke out in heat rashes most of the summer from the stockings so she ended up not wearing them. With not wearing her stockings she then had a lot of bowel issues and spent a lot of the summer in pain. We are hoping that by getting her legs taped she won't be in a lot of pain this summer and that the swelling will stay down!!! Isla also had to have major dental work done!! Due to her diet not allowing dairy she ended up with a calcium deficiency that caused a lot of problems with her teeth. She went in and had a root canal, 2 crowns, 4 fillings and x-Rays. She was a champ!!!! She did come home groggy and had a rough few hours at home but with 24 hrs was pretty much back to her normal playful self. To help with her calcium deficiency she is now drinking orange juice high in calcium as well as having more greens added to her diet. The dentist has requested that when Hope & Grace get their first tooth to bring them in for check up.
Grace and Hope
Grace & Hope turned 6 months old!!! My little chunky monkies are weighing in at over 17lbs. They hate both in the 90% tile. Their pediatrician is extremely happy with their growth. They are both rolling all over and talk like crazy. We have started introducing foods to them. We found a gluten free baby food that has a varietynof foods for them that are on their diet!! So far they are loving a mix of carrots, sweet potatoes and raisins as well as quinoa. I have been making a lot of their food. I have been putting brown rice, oatmeal and quinoa in the blender and grinding it up to a powder and then when I need it just add either water or some of their formula to feed it to them. They are not receiving physical, therapy yet or wearing stockings. We are waiting til they start crawling and then we will go from their as requested by the physical therapist and pediatrician. Their dad and I have been shown how to do MLD so we do that at home with them ourselves as of now.
These girls are amazing!! I couldn't have been blessed with more amazing girls!! They are so full of life and energy. They make me smile and laugh every day. Isla's love for life astonishes me, she refuses to let anything stop her and is an inspiration to her whole family.
